ToneWoodAmp artists regularly speak about being part of the ToneWoodAmp family and there’s no better place to see this in action than at Nashville songwriter Billy Dawson’s East Nashville home.
I met Billy, an award winning Nashville songwriter, when he hosted last year’s ToneWoodAmp inaugural Bluebird event, “Toast and Jam,” where, in addition to performing, he ably brought together a diverse group of musicians.
ToneWoodAmp brought their usual collection of American guitar stalwarts and songwriters to summer NAMM, including UK guitar wizard, Mike Dawes, who was joined by one of the most exciting players in the world of acoustic music, Turkish fretless guitarist, Cenk Erdogan and It didn’t take the ToneWoodAmp family long to gather at Dawson’s home in search of common ground.
Despite jet lag, and with the help of some fuzzy couch pillows, new music was written, recordings made, and the family got a little bigger. It can be a lonely life for the traveling musician but you’d never know it by looking at these pictures from Billy’s home.

Cenk and Mike would begin the next evening at the Bluebird Cafe by playing the new song they’d written and nobody would have know that it had been written less than 24 hours ago.
The ToneWoodAmp’s technology is serious music technology. But it’s the ToneWoodAmp’s extended family that really makes the music. There’s only one more day of Summer NAMM. But there’s still time to visit us at Booth 1301. Come be part of the family. I think you’ll feel right at home.
Award-winning performing songwriter/guitarist, journalist, and music educator. Love somebody.
