Acoustic Guitar Accessory Provides Unplugged Effects

Nashville, Tenn., June. 23-25, 2016 [NAMM Booth #1502] – ToneWoodAmp, the portable device from HONZ Technologies LLC that attaches to the back of any acoustic guitar enabling guitarists to easily add sound effects without the use of any external speaker or amp, has completed production and shipping of its Kickstarter-backed products and is now selling direct to consumers via the company’s website at

Since its introduction on Kickstarter, the device has thrilled both amateur and professional musicians around the country and sold out its first four production runs. The powerful guitar accessory has since been featured in a wide variety of guitar and technology media outlets including, GuitarNoize, GizMag, and TechCrunch.

“The ToneWoodAmp stimulates the back of your acoustic guitar with natural sound effects such as reverb, delay, tremolo and more,” says Ofer Webman, president of HONZ Technologies and inventor of the ToneWoodAmp. “The sound comes directly from the guitar itself. It’s a very unique and inspiring experience for the players — we call it acoustic guitar 2.0.”

The ToneWoodAmp attaches to an acoustic guitar using a unique magnetic/suction hybrid system called the Magnetic-X-Brace. The install takes minutes, requires no tools, and does not damage the guitar. With it’s internal DSP and optional iDevice connectivity (requires iDevice adaptor – sold separately), the ToneWoodAmp provides a unique playing experience.

The ToneWoodAmp can be installed virtually on any flat or slightly arched-back acoustic guitar. Because of its unique design, the ToneWoodAmp can be quickly and easily removed from one guitar and attached to another allowing it to work with multiple acoustic guitars. The device was designed with singer-songwriters in mind and is perfect for experimentation, composition, recording, and even live performances.

“I love textures and I have a lot of pedals and rack units to help me achieve that, but when I just pick up an acoustic guitar using the ToneWoodAmp it’s pretty amazing not to be plugged into an external amp and still have textures,” says Larry Mitchell, Grammy Award-winning guitarist.

The ToneWoodAmp sold out during and after its Kickstarter run and since its launch has been used by a growing list of top professional musicians including Jerry Douglas, Andy McKee, Vince Gill, Eric Gales, Monte Montgomery ,Kaki King, Janis Ian, Jesse Cook, Mike Gallaher, Grammy Winner Larry Mitchell, Crystal Bowersox, Arielle, Travis Toy (Rascal Flatts), Tom Yankton , Andy Wood, Albert Cummings, Tony James (Out of the Box, Disney), The Swon Brothers, Adam Lasher (American Idol), Carlos Hernandez, Don Alder, Jake Allen, Guy Erez (Alan Parson’s Project) Henry Chen, Paul Jackson Jr., Eban Brown (The Stylistics), Adrian Bellue, Billy Dawson, Pablo Tato (Adielle), Whitney Monge and Al Di Meola.
