I've been using this new Tonewood Amp 2 for 2 weeks now and I am in love with it. I haven't had the opportunity to use it in line to my acoustic amp/PA yet, but I am looking forward it's response live. It's the best purchase I have made in years. VERY happy with it!!!
I liked using the first gen but it wasn’t a perfect unit, particularly with the software (on the unit) and felt there was significant lag to the buttons, etc. The new version is much much improved in responsiveness when using the mobile app (I’ve only used it with the mobile app). Sounds and effects are a step up (or two) improvement over v1.0. Highly recommend it for all acoustic guitar players!
After two weeks of experimenting with my new Tonewood Amp 2 it is clear I will have many years ahead of me with new sounds and fun times. The tonewood amp 2 is very user friendly. The X brace was easy to install and the instructional videos provided were very helpful. The smartphone app is user friendly and again the instructional set up videos were very helpful. The sounds are easy to adjust and allows for flexible playing and fun sound experimenting. The battery life is also very good, I have used it for many hours now and it still has battery life left. I highly recommend Tonewood Amp 2 for players who are looking to play with sounds and experiment with the mood of sound textures.
So far so good - love how my Taylor sounds with it. Absolutely recommended.
having an x brace in multiple guitars is awesome! Gives me way more options to play different genres.
Very impressive! Have it installed on my Johnny Cash Martin. Haven’t played any other guitars since I got this! Really brings out the creativity!
Good device, just doesn't work on my all acoustic guitars without a pickup.

I was a user of the first Tonewood amp, and this version is exponentially better! Incredible flexibility and variety of effects. I highly recommend this amp!!
The unit is smaller and easier ergonomically to deploy. Rechargeable battery a huge plus since the older unit chewed up batteries. The phone app makes changes easy and storable. Big thumbs up.

I Love this thing, I haved played a 12 string guitar all my life, cause anything you do sounds great. This is over the Top, Great Value for the money, I am very Happy with this one and the original one!
Love this product and all its new upgrades. The app is amazing too. So many options for tweaking and dialing in the effects. Sounds clearer and better than ever.
Love it. I bought the first one through Kickstarter and was happy to see the changes made to the new one. The only thing ive have issues with is the app. Any time i go to set my notch filters the app crashes but i imagine that they will fix this soon through an update.
Nothing to compare with the first generation. Just love it!
On the plus side, the pads snug the device securely to the back of my guitar. However, they act more like double stick tape than microsuction. They work fairly well on my satin finish D-15. But on my gloss J-45 and D-18, the pads grip so tightly that they are destroyed when I try to remove the tonewood amp in order to fit the guitar back into its case - and they leave half the pad in fragments stuck to the back of the guitar that I then have to carefully remove without damaging the nitrocellulose finish. I have had fun playing unplugged with acoustic effects. But I suspect once the novelty has worn off I’ll probably ditch the Tonewood Amp and go back to my pedalboard - in large part because of the poor performance of the pads, and fear of damaging the finish on my guitars.
I’ve been using the ToneWoodAmp 2 for over a month now and I’m extremely satisfied! The sound quality is truly impressive — the effects are clean, natural, and bring a whole new dimension to playing. What amazes me the most is being able to use reverb, delay, and other effects without an amp, directly from the guitar. Installation was simple, and the device is very intuitive to use. Huge compliments to the ToneWoodAmp team for creating such a great product — I highly recommend it to any guitarist looking to enhance their sound!
Really enjoying my Tonewood2. It was very easy to install and is also easy to operate. I’ve used it alone and through an amp. I am very happy with the unit. Thanks for creating such a remarkable tool.
Awesome idea and design and the app is very good! It still doesn’t help with the volume so some of the effects are hard to really hear.
I downloaded the app right after I received the TWA2. It was easy to set up and lots of fun trying out the different effects, mixing and matching. Trying to use the TWA2 without the app is a little tricky but works fine. I had a difficult time getting the "kickstand" work, I am using it on a Guild 12 string, but once I got it open it really made it fit the back much better. I did see the warnings of the difficulty but it was harder than I thought, no problems, though. I was a little dissappointed that they did not include the "sleep" function in the TWA2 but support said they may include it in the update, here is hoping. Overall it works great, sound fabulous and the long battery life and rechargable battery is outstanding.
